BIOGRAPHY

Originally from New York, Benedict Ives trained in San Francisco under legendary acting coach/director Jean Shelton of the Actors Theater of San Francisco.
For over fourteen years he appeared on San Francisco stages in a variety of productions including Miller's "A View From the Bridge", Mamet's "GlenGarry Glen Ross" (SF Drama Circle Award), G.B.Shaw's "The Philanderer", Tennesee Williams' "The Rose Tatto" and "Sight Unseen " by Donald Margulies. He also worked as an ongoing contributing director at the San Francisco Playwrights Center.
Independent film credits include "Unconditional" (2007 Cannes Film Festival Short Corner), "Shadowlands" (opposite Gary Busey), "Jujuluv" by Nigerian filmmaker Lisbon Okafor (a Mill Valley Film Festival winner in 2004), "Stalemate"( a Rising Star Award winner at Los Angeles Underground Film Festival) among others.
His writting and directing efforts include, "Toussaint" a feature film set in French Polynesia, "Under the Given Circumstances" , a dramatic short film and the documentary short , "Viva Yo!" a study of reknowned San Francisco artist Antonio Benevenuti and the play "Pin Points not Shown". He is currently in production on a dramatic short film about Al Capone.
